Sunday Worship: 10AM

We know that life can sometimes be rough and at times filled with pain and confusion. Our circumstances - whether big or small, ordinary or complex - can sometimes cause us to need help. At AGC we believe God’s Word, the Bible, is sufficient to help us navigate even the most challenging life situations and questions. We are here to offer hope and help to those in need.

Qualified Counselors:

All of our counselors, whether they are pastors or laypersons, have been certified or are in the process of being certified by a nationally accredited biblical counseling organization, and have experience helping people through similar issues to your own. We are not a licensed counseling agency, nor are we (by design) psychologically or medically trained therapists. We make it our aim to love you, be faithful to you, work hard for you, pray with and for you, and care for you in a Christ-centered, biblically-grounded, Spirit-led way. We promise to do our best to help you find biblical solutions for the problems and questions you are seeking help for.

Types of counseling we provide:
  • individual counseling
  • premarital and marital counseling
  • family/parental counseling (with children under the age of thirteen we work primarily with the parents and/or with the parents and children)
  • adolescent counseling (with parental consent and involvement)

*We offer both in-person and online counseling.

What is the cost?

We provide our biblical counseling as a ministry at no cost. However, non-members and non-attenders will be responsible for the cost of materials related to homework assignments. Donations are always welcome.

What to Expect:

At this time, counseling sessions are offered Tuesday - Friday, 9am-5pm (after-hour counseling available on a case-by-case basis). We take a limited number of counseling cases with priority given first to members and attendees of AGC. Most counseling sessions are 2 hours on a weekly basis.Habits are not developed overnight, and new habits will take time to develop. In most cases, we ask individuals to commit to regular counseling appointments for a period of 3 to 4 months. Difficult cases may take longer. During your initial meeting, your counselor will determine the goals that he or she would like to work toward. Each counseling session will be uniquely tailored to address the issues of sin or suffering that you are facing, and will include a time of prayer, dialogue about the presenting problem, and biblical instruction. After each session you will be given homework assignments to complete before your next meeting. The assignments are meant to encourage lasting change, and are where most of your growth will take place as you become a “doer” of God’s Word.

Privacy and Care
Confidentiality is an essential aspect of the biblical counseling relationship and we will carefully guard the information you entrust to us. All communications between you and your counselor will be held in strict confidence except where, in the counselor’s judgment, there is a Biblical requirement to involve others (e.g. criminal activity).
